Description:
Gateway Environmental Study Center, a facility of the NYC Board of Education, is committed to supporting educators who wish to expand their teaching beyond the classroom walls. Together with our partner the National Park Service, the Center aims to achieve quality programming in the learning center of Gateway National Recreation Area for the New York Education Community. The parks' 26,000 acres landscape of shorelines, forests and historic landmarks offer a plethora of learning opportunities for students. Because of these studies about the natural and built environments, students will become effective students of the world in which they live.
