Description:
The Harlem River Conservancy was established to promote the history and preservation of the Harlem River; to provide closer ties and a greater appreciation for the river by the surrounding community; to promote increased knowledge of the history and the natural and recreational resources and needs of the river; to enrich the river and its surrounding environment; and to encourage local residents to participate in activities sponsored by the organization.
